NORWALK SCHOOL SYSTEM The Norwalk Community School District is dedicated to “learning for a lifetime.” Its mission is to provide maximum learning opportunities for all students in a safe, friendly environment so each individual may make a positive contribution to the community and remain a lifelong learner. The Norwalk Community School District, serving the newly annexed area of West Des Moines in Warren County, is a modestly growing school district located just four miles south of West Des Moines/Des Moines off Iowa Highway 28. SACRED HEART SCHOOL Sacred Heart is a kindergarten through eighth grade Catholic school that serves the parish of Sacred Heart. ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL St. Francis of Assisi School promotes the spirit and academic growth of students in a manner designed to uphold the charisma and essence of St. Francis, his love of brotherhood/sisterhood and his awareness of God’s presence in all creatures. Enrollment for the 2005-2006 school year is 580. St. Francis of Assisi has established a phased-in approach to the school. Grades kindergarten through eight were divided into a kindergarten through second grade primary unit (beginning fall 2000), a third through fifth grade intermediate unit (beginning fall 2001), and a sixth through eighth grade middle school unit (beginning fall 2004). IOWA CHRISTIAN ACADEMY Iowa Christian Academy is a private interdenominational Christian school, kindergarten through grade 12, offering a traditional education system. The academy offers a full pre-college curriculum with athletics and other activities. To receive its annual accreditation as a college preparatory school, ICA must have 80 percent of its graduates apply and be accepted to four-year colleges. Preschool and day care are available. DOWLING CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

Dowling Catholic High School is a secondary school located in West Des Moines. In 1972, St. Joseph’s Academy for girls, established in 1887, and Dowling High School for boys, established in 1918, merged to form the current coeducational school.
