Dear WDM Chamber Member:
Please come out this Friday evening and help us honor West Des Moines' 2010 Citizen of the Year, Scott A. Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield is Chairman of the Board of SVPA Architects Inc., and has been unanimously selected as Citizen of the Year based on a long history of service to the West Des Moines community. He is the 65th recipient of this annual award.
We are having a special outdoor reception behind West Des Moines City  Hall this Friday, April 30th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM featuring live music, hors d'oeuvres, beverages and a brief award presentation. The reception is open to the public and there is no charge to attend, but RSVPs are appreciated. The event will also serve as the kick-off to A-May-Zing Days, a month long series of events celebrating the City of West Des Moines. To register for the reception, click here. Come on out for "PUTT Your Best FOOD FOREward" this Saturday, May 1st from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at West Glen Town Center. "PUTT  Your Best FOOD FOREward" is a miniature golf event benefiting the Des Moines Area Religious Council's (DMARC) nine emergency food pantries and will consist of 24 miniature golf holes that have been sponsored and created by businesses throughout the West Des Moines area. All golf holes will have a food theme and 100 percent of the donations, monetary or tangible, will be given to DMARC. "PUTT Your Best FOOD FOREward" is a community campaign created, organized and executed by the West Des Moines Leadership Academy (WDMLA) Class of 2009-2010.

 REGISTER TODAY FOR ZING INTO SPRING
Put a little ZING in your step and join us on Saturday, May 22nd for our 3rd Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk called Zing into Spring.
The route begins and ends at Prairie Life Fitness, 4875 Mills Civic Parkway. Registration will open at 7:00 AM; 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:00 AM. All ages and entire families are encouraged to participate.
