Volunteer Opportunities The West Des Moines Chamber can't function without the members who volunteer for the many committee task forces and events. Committee involvement is important...and is a great way to network with other chamber members in smaller groups. Please take the time now to review the responsibilities of each committee. COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Chair: Paul Rupprecht, R&R Realty Facilitate planning of Lunch & Learn programs Conduct economic development tours and programs Plan the New Business Appreciation Luncheon COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE Chairs: Rose Breuss, McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith            Kay Rosene, WDM Community Schools Work with local publishers to update a guide to living in West Des Moines. Develop and improve information and usefulness of the electronic newsletter and Chamber website. Support all committees in their communication efforts. Explore all avenues of promotion for WDM. CHAMBER AMBASSADORS Chair: Karla Stessman, Waste Connections Nominees for future Chamber Ambassadors are chosen by the existing Ambassador group from members of the Chamber who have a demonstrated attendance record at events and activities of at least 1 year. Knowledge of Chamber activities is a must, as well as the ability to attend at least 75% of all scheduled Ambassador activities. Ambassadors are responsible for the purchase of the standard "Ambassador" blue blazer at a cost of $100, payable upon delivery. Membership in the Ambassador Committee is limited to 35 members.
